Today, sushi and sashimi are popular, and it is commonly known that they are a healthy and tasty delicacy. However, most sushi in Copenhagen is not authentically prepared. Traditional sushi adheres to the original concepts that the taste must be simple, meaning that one should be able to enjoy the fresh, raw fish and marinated rice, and that it must be a healthy and light meal.
If one wants to get sushi in Copenhagen, one should be aware that the vast majority of the places are run by non-Japanese owners who offer American style sushi. Naturally, there is nothing wrong with American style sushi; it is just quite far from the original, traditionally-served Japanese sushi where the enjoyment lies in the taste of the fresh ingredients.
